Manchester United are confident they will make Bryan Mbeumo their second signing of the summer transfer window after they submitted a revised bid earlier this week. It is understood United made an offer in the region of £60 million for the playmaker, with a larger upfront fee for the London club.
Mbeumo has indicated he would prefer to move to United over any other suitor this summer, and he did not have his head turned by the appointment of Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur. The Europa League winners also expressed an interest in a move and were prepared to offer more money, but have not been able to convince him of the deal.
United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and will have their attacking options strengthened further by the addition of Mbeumo. Amorim hopes to have the 25-year-old in place for their pre-season tour of the US next month and they might already have the dream shirt number ready for his arrival.
