All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they ramp up their summer business.
Arsenal are now ramping up their summer transfer business as they look to strengthen ahead of the new season. The Gunners know they have business aplenty to take care of this off-season, having a hole or two to fill in their starting XI and plenty of depth to add.
Romano on Arsenal’s plans
Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about Arsenal’s ongoing business plans as they continue to battle for a striker and a winger, among other signings. Asked by GiveMeSport about the possible signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, he said: “He’s been discussed internally but same for more players at winger position. Nothing advanced yet so far."
On Arsenal’s business in general, he said on his podcast: “Get ready, Arsenal fans. It’s been a busy summer already, and the best is yet to come because Arsenal want to do way more!”
Arsenal bid ‘rejected’
According to Radio Marca, Arsenal fell short with their opening bid, which is said to have been below the £17million asking price set by Valencia. Los Ché look to be pushed into the sale because they have not made a new contract offer despite the defender previously wanting to stay. Mosquera is now wanting to move on, and he only has a year left on his deal.
MLS praise
Former Gunners midfielder Adrian Clarke has been singing the praises of Myles Lewis-Skelly after the versatile youngster signed a new ‘long-term’ contract to end any and all speculation surrounding his future at the Emirates Stadium.
Clarke told Premier League Productions: “Lewis-Skelly uses his body remarkably well, and this makes him incredibly hard to knock off the ball. The Arsenal youngster can dominate opposition wingers, or any central midfielders he encounters infield, and is fearless, determined and strong beyond his years.
“Remarkably, Nottingham Forest’s towering central defender Nikola Milenkovic was the only Premier League outfielder to boast more success in his duels than Lewis-Skelly last season. It is borderline ridiculous for a teenager to be near the top of this list at all.”
The 18-year-old said after penning his new deal: “I want a legacy. I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that's always learning and stays grounded, which is so important.” Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakthrough season of last and will be hoping to become a vital player next season and in the years to come.
