The 22-year-old will be allowed to leave permanently this summer for the right price and the Tigers, who signed him on loan for the second half of last season, are keen to complete a deal.
Barry, a product of Albion’s academy who joined Villa in January 2020 after a brief spell at Barcelona, made only four appearances before his campaign was ended by injury.
His sole first-team appearance and goal for Villa came in an infamous FA Cup third round tie against Liverpool in January 2021, when the club were forced to field their youth-team due to a Covid outbreak at the training ground.
Barry has since impressed during loan spells at Stockport County, scoring 16 goals in the first half of last season for the League One club.
Villa are also prepared to let Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Leander Dendoncker go this summer, while they have also called off their pursuit of Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez.
The 19-year-old was on Villa’s list of winger targets but is instead poised to join Como in a deal worth nearly £24million.
Boss Unai Emery also wants to recruit a right-back and a right-sided centre-back with Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi among the reported targets in the latter position.
