Minnesota Timberwolves will most likely not have enough cap space to re-sign guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker after inking Naz Reid to a $125 million contract extension.
The Minnesota Timberwolves made a huge move by bringing back their star big man Naz Reid on a new five-year, $125 million deal.

Although retaining Reid was a priority for the Timberwolves this offseason, it will most likely lead to the loss of one of their most important guards, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, in free agency.
Alexander-Walker averaged 9.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this past season, playing over 25 minutes per contest.
He was an essential piece of the team that reached back-to-back Western Conference Finals, thanks to his defensive versatility and reliable three-point shooting—knocking down 38.1% of his 4.5 attempts per game.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker earned just $4.3 million this season and is now an unrestricted free agent, expected to sign a much larger contract for the upcoming year.
