Wolves could hold a transfer advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign one midfield target.
Despite Joao Gomes and Andre being Vitor Pereira’s untouchable pivot in the position, it’s expected that Wolves will recruit a midfielder this summer.
Tommy Doyle is set to leave Wolves in the coming weeks, as Birmingham City close in on capturing the Englishman’s signature.
Doyle doesn’t fit Pereira’s style at Molineux, paving the way to his exit just one year after making his move from Manchester City permanent.
The door is now open for the Old Gold to sign a midfielder better suited to the manager’s system, with several targets identified.

Wolves’ transfer advantage over Arsenal for Breno Bidon
One player linked to bolster Pereira’s midfield is a talent well known to the Wolves manager.
Wolves have enquired about Breno Bidon, a 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder currently representing Corinthians.
Before the summer transfer window opened, Wolves were linked to Bidon, with interest potentially reaching a new level, as Corinthians deem the youngster an asset they’re ready to sell to generate funds.

Wolves could capture the Brazil U20 international for as little as £12.8m, despite the teen being protected by a release clause of £85m.
While the opportunity is there, the Old Gold aren’t alone in their admiration for the player, with Arsenal also eyeing the starlet, whom they could offer Champions League football.
Though Arsenal can undoubtedly offer Bidon a better financial package, Wolves might have the upper hand in this case due to something that no other club can present to the midfielder.
Bidon’s career took off at Corinthians because of Pereira, with the 20-year-old having full trust in the Wolves boss, which could play to the Old Gold’s advantage.
Added to that, Pereira can offer Bidon a place to grow, which is more difficult to imagine at the Emirates, as Mikel Arteta is in line to sign two midfielders this summer in the form of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.

Bidon was described as Vitor Pereira’s favourite
Having the manager’s trust even before signing for a club is something that very few players can be offered before making a move.
For Bidon, the Brazilian could arrive at Molineux already knowing how highly rated he is by the boss, as Pereira’s admiration for the player began years ago.
Corinthians dedicated website, Meu Tima, once revealed a comment from one of Pereira’s former colleagues at the club, where the Wolves manager’s true feelings for Bidon were laid out.
Journalist Luis Fabiani spoke to a member of Pereira’s former coaching staff back in 2022, who described Bidon as a ‘star’.
“Vitor Pereira’s favourite, who I also love, is Breno Bidon! That kid is a star!” the unnamed former colleague of Pereira said.
Pereira promoted the midfielder to the first team at Corinthians, with the rest being earned by the talent himself, who has since racked up 70 senior appearances for his club.
It remains to be seen whether the coach and player’s paths cross once more, with Molineux having the potential to become home for the budding Brazilian star.
