Whilst the wait for them to sign a striker continues, Arsenal are bidding adding reinforcements in other areas of the field.
Hot on the heels of the deal to sign goalkeeper Kepa from Chelsea, and with two defensive midfielders, Martin Zubímendi and Christan Nørgaard set to join the club as well, they are now in talks to sign central defender Christhian Mosquera from Valencia.
The 20-year old Spanish youth international, who is of Colombian descent, has already indicated his willingness to make the move and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
He has been with Valencia since the age of 12, and made his first-team debut in 2022. Since then he has made 97 appearances for them in all competitions.
Mosquera will provide cover for both William Saliba and Gabriel, as he is two-footed, and he also offers an option at right-back.
Arsenal had previously looked at both Dean Huijsen, before he joined Real Madrid and Brazilian teenager Vitor Reis, but he chose Manchester City instead.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
