There’s never a dull moment at Barcelona it seems, with this summer beginning to shape up as yet another busy period for the Catalans.
In just over a fortnight - on the day of the Club World Cup final in fact - the players will return for pre-season medical tests, with training on the pitches at the Ciutat Esportiva to begin on July 13.
In the meantime, there’s plenty to be getting on with.

Ansu Fati finally arrived in Monaco to complete his loan deal with the Ligue 1 club, whilst Joan Laporta has said that Frenkie de Jong’s renewal is “on the right track.”
So.. what’s next?
Sealing the Nico Williams deal would appear to be of the upmost importance, and having the 22-year-old at the club from the get go of the 2025/26 season will be of obvious benefit, rather than having to wait for a protracted transfer saga to play out.
In order not to have too much disruption in the dressing room, a cosy chat with Marc-Andre ter Stegen might well be the next item on the agenda too.
The German is showing no signs of softening his stance and intends to stay, despite a number of European clubs looking to explore their options as far as the custodian is concerned.

In many ways his situation mirrors that of De Jong a year or two ago, when it was blindingly obvious that the club wanted the Dutchman’s salary off the books.
There’s unlikely to be a way back for MAtS in the same way that Frenkie has managed to claw himself back to being flavour of the month, and that should be enough for the German to begrudgingly accept that his future is elsewhere.
Other players that need to be offloaded include Pablo Torre and Pau Victor, while Deco has admitted he wants to sell a center-back - with the spotlight firmly on Ronald Araujo or Andreas Christensen.

The Dane is another prepared to stick things out even if it’s to his detriment, whilst the Uruguayan has steadfastly kept his own counsel to this point.
Torre and Victor have done ok without being fantastic when called upon by Hansi Flick, and it benefits everyone to find them both a new club, be that on loan or permanently.
If all of the elements fall into place over the next few weeks, Barca could be markedly better off than they were last season, however, we all know that the path is rarely smooth where the Blaugranes are concerned.
