Aston Villa are willing to sell Matty Cash this summer but a deal has been held up due to his £100,000-a-week wages, sources have told Football Insider.
Unai Emery has given the green light to the right-back completing a permanent move away from Villa Park.
Villa have fielded enquiries for Cash, 27, from clubs in the Premier League and abroad but his salary is proving to be a stumbling block.
The right-back has a contract with Villa that runs until the summer of 2027.

Villa want to replace Cash
Cash has been at Villa since his move from Nottingham Forest back in the summer of 2020, for a reported fee of £14million.
Last season, the 27-year-old started just 24 Premier League games for Emery’s side, as a combination of niggling injuries and poor form kept him out the side.

The full-back ended the season with a flourish however, starting each of the last seven matches of the campaign, as the Villans cruelly missed out on Champions League football.
Back in March, Football Insider were exclusively told by former Villa scout Mick Brown that staff at the club have their concerns about Cash.
Brown claimed that the Midlands-based side are plotting to sign a new first-choice right-back this summer.

Villa ready to sell Watkins
Meanwhile, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Aston Villa are willing to sell Ollie Watkins in the next three days but have yet to find a buyer for their star man.
The Midlands giants need to offload one of their first-team stars by the 30 June accounting deadline to avoid breaching the Premier League‘s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Watkins, 30 in December, is among a number of Villa stars who the club have let it be known to senior agents that they would sell by Monday’s cut-off.
Atletico Madrid-wanted duo Emiliano Martinez and Lucas Digne, as well as star midfielder Youri Tielemans, are also potential departures by next week.
