Former Manchester United star Ruud Van Nistelrooy is removed from his managerial role by Leicester City.
Van Nistelrooy’s short spell results in failures
Leicester City has officially removed former Man Utd striker Ruud van Nistelrooy from his role after a difficult spell at the club.
The Foxes appointed the Dutchman during a tough time. He was tasked with simply bring the club back in form. But, results did not fall in his favour. Van Nistelrooy got just five wins in his 27 games in charge.
They had a total of 19 losses during a very short time under the head coach. They became the first team in England’s top four divisions to lose eight home league games in a row without scoring.
Van Nistelrooy must have found it tough to remain in a job. That is especially after the club was relegated to the Championship. Although, the former striker will always be regarded as a legend of the game. However, his time in the dugout was not really fruitful.
Sean Dyche could be viewed as a possible replacement
Ruud van Nistelrooy is now out of the picture. Now, Leicester are just beginning to search. Meanwhile, Sean Dyche is on top of their list. Reportedly, Dyche stands as the favourite to take the managerial role at King Power Stadium.
Dyche is an experienced manager who has somehow found success in difficult times. Sean bravely took Burnley into the Premier League on hardly any transfer business. And then brought them back after two relegations. His experience of rebuilding teams and finding promotion could suit Leicester perfectly.
Other names mentioned include Danny Rohl and former United midfielder Michael Carrick. Carrick has just left his position at Middlesbrough. This comes after failing to back up back-to-back promotions. But, he has championship experience so he is still an option to consider.
Leicester clearly want results and stability quickly and pre-season is around the corner.
