Manchester United are in hot pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
After their opening bid was rejected, the Red Devils submitted a second offer worth around £62.5 million for the 25-year-old. But that was also turned down.
Now the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfer-bryan-mbeumo-35466123?l=) are reporting that the Bees are holding out for a fee close to £65m for Mbeumo’s summer exit.
United are said to have the funds available for signing the winger without requiring sales in advance.
But they plan to remain disciplined and avoid overpaying for players in the market.
Mbeumo has been a consistent performer for Brentford since joining the club in 2019.
The right winger has scored 70 goals and provided 51 assists in 242 appearances across all competitions.
The 2024-25 campaign proved to be his most productive, as he bagged 20 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
His excellent displays last season has sparked transfer interest from several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, [the Cameroon international has made it clear he only wants to join United](https://footballtoday.com/2025/06/28/brentford-reject-manchester-uniteds-second-bid-for-bryan-mbeumo/).
Mbeumo is highly-rated by Ruben Amorim’s side, but it remains to be seen whether they will return with a third bid for a player who has only one year left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.
United are prioritising reinforcements in attack following their goalscoring struggles last season.
They have already wrapped up a £62.5m move for Matheus Cunha, and are now chasing a deal for Mbeumo.
