Swindon Town trial for Cheltenham Town's former Aston Villa and Sunderland midfielder Harrison…

Cheltenham Town's Harrison Sohna is on a pre-season trial with League Two rivals Swindon Town.

The left-footed midfielder, previously with Aston Villa and Sunderland, signed a two-year deal with Cheltenham last summer.

He made six League Two starts, with a further two appearances from the bench and four cup outings, scoring in the EFL Trophy group stage win at Newport County AFC.

Sohna, who is from Gloucester, joined National League club Wealdstone on loan for the second half of the campaign, helping them avoid relegation on the final day with a 3-1 home win over Halifax Town.

Cheltenham have since placed him on the transfer list and while there has been interest from at least two National League clubs, he is currently training with Ian Holloway’s Swindon Town in a bid to earn a contract at the County Ground.

Sohna, who turns 23 on Tuesday, made one EFL Cup appearance for Sunderland, along with three outings in the EFL Trophy after joining them from Villa in July 2021.

He had earlier made his senior debut for the Villans in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool in January 2021, scoring for their Under-21s in an EFL Trophy match against Carlisle United.
