TBR Football can reveal that Jarrad Branthwaite has agreed to the terms presented to him by Everton to extend his contract.
The English defender has earned a lot of admirers in the Premier League over the last two years, and several clubs have shown interest in signing him.
A move away from Goodison Park even looked likely at one point in the 2024 summer transfer window, but Everton managed to hold onto him.
Now, the Toffees are close to extending his deal, and the 23-year-old is set for a big pay rise.
Jarrad Branthwaite’s wages will more than triple with new Everton contract
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, can confirm that Jarrad Branthwaite has agreed terms on his new contract with Everton.
The centre-half, who has just turned 23, was still tied to The Toffees for three years, including a club option.
But, he had not signed a new deal since becoming an England international.
Manchester United tried to sign Branthwaite last summer, but Everton had little intention of selling and slapped a price tag in excess of £70 million on their star defender.
TBR can confirm that Arsenal and Liverpool also maintain a firm interest in Branthwaite, but the player has now agreed on a new deal that will see his wages — currently £35,000-a-week — more than tripled.
We exclusively revealed earlier this year that Everton were pushing ahead with talks with Branthwaite and were ‘confident’ a deal would be agreed.
Branthwaite is expected to put pen to paper on his new contract at Everton in the coming week.

More contract renewals at Everton
Branthwaite will not be the only one to continue his stay at Everton this summer.
The Toffees have agreed fresh terms with Seamus Coleman, and the defender will be a part of the club for the 17th season, having joined all the way back in 2009.
Sources have told TBR that Everton are confident that Idrissa Gueye will join Coleman and Branthwaite in committing his immediate future to David Moyes.
In terms of transfers, TBR exclusively revealed that Everton are confident that Thierno Barry will join them from Villarreal this summer.
The Merseysiders are willing to trigger the striker’s £34 million release clause, but they may look to pay a slightly higher fee to obtain more favourable payment terms.
