Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho has made a U-turn by rejecting Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho for a permanent summer deal. The Red Devils are trying hard to sell all of their unwanted surplus players, which includes the 25-year-old attacking winger.
Sancho had a public spat with former United boss Erik ten Hag after failing to establish himself at the club. The England international has spent most of his time since the 2023-24 season in loan spells at two different clubs.
Sancho spent the latter part of the 2023-24 season at Borussia Dortmund and then joined United’s rival Chelsea last season. Even at Chelsea, the 25-year-old struggled with inconsistencies in performance, leading to the collapse of a potential permanent summer deal.

The London rivals opted to pay the £5 million penalty instead of meeting the obligation to buy clause this summer. Chelsea failed to convince Sancho to take a pay cut and rejected the cheap payment of up to £25 million.
Serie A clubs, Napoli and Juventus, are also interested in the 25-year-old, but want Sancho to take a pay cut. We recently covered speculations that Mourinho managed to convince Sancho to take the pay cut, something others failed to accomplish.
However, according to the Turkish publication Fanatik, Mourinho has made a U-turn by rejecting Sancho after a conversation with United boss Ruben Amorim. Mourinho has a good relationship with Amorim and recently defended the United manager after he lost the Europa League final. The report suggests that Amorim warned Mourinho about Sancho’s behavioural issues and preference to put financial desires over football ambitions.
Even though the conversation between Amorim and Mourinho hurts United’s chance to sell Sancho, it seems their bond triumphs over the business aspects. Rest assured, United need to sell the unwanted players who are earning astronomical wages at the club.
