“Unless there’s breaking news”–Player insists teammate isn’t joining Arsenal yet, club adamant on position

Valencia are remaining adamant that they won’t negotiate with Arsenal for defender Cristhian Mosquera this summer.

That’s according to El Desmarque, who cover comments from the Valencia defender’s teammate José Luis Gayà on the situation also.

They first explain that Valencia remain adamant they will not negotiate for their key players this summer and instead, are only focused on renewing them. Mosquera is one such player. His contract expires next summer.

He’s being targeted by Arsenal, with a report yesterday insisting they’ve already seen a bid rejected. That was followed by another this morning that Arsenal will not give up trying to sign the 21-year-old.

Valencia captain José Luis Gayà is certainly hoping the defender, and other stars such as Javi Guerra and César Tárrega, don’t leave this summer.

“I would be delighted if all three could stay because I think they can give a lot this new season and bring a lot of joy to the fans,” he is quoted saying to À Puunt.

“As of today, unless there’s any breaking news, I think all three of them are still with us, and I hope it continues like this, and they continue to grow as players.”

El Desmarque insist that is a stance shared by Valencia. They don’t intend to move any player on and are completely focused on renewing them.

They’ve told everyone that they won’t negotiate the exits and will move on renewals when Ron Gourlay arrives at the club next month. That’s the plan and they’re sticking to it.

The problem is that offers are arriving for all three players, with Arsenal, AC Milan and Bologna already seeing their bids rejected and likely to come back with more.
