A look at the top 10 West Ham goalscorers of all time, including two FIFA World Cup winners.

West Ham have a rich history of goalscorers, and their all-time top scorers feature no less than two World Cup winners. The Hammers have club legends aplenty, although there hasn’t been a new entry to their top 10 scorers of all time since Tony Cottee, who left the club in 1966.

Jarrod Bowen is the only current Hammer with a chance of breaking onto the list, though he is still a fair way away. Michail Antonio is actually closer, but his age means he will struggle to make it onto the list. Here we round up the top 10 West Ham goalscorers of all time, just keep in mind that these are professional goals only, and it does not include the goals scored before the club had professional status.

Joint 9. Martin Peters - 100

Peters represented West Ham between 1962 and 1970 and racked up a tonne of goals. He also made 67 appearances for England and was part of the 1966 World Cup-winning team. He is one of two players on this list who was part of that team.

Joint 9. Malcolm Musgrove - 100

Musgrove also scored 100 goals for the Iron. He was with the club between 1953 and 1963, and he made 283 appearances during that decade, going on to play for Leyton Orient.

8. Trevor Brooking - 102

A club legend, Trevor Brooking made 528 league appearances for the Hammers between 1966 and 1984. He also made 47 appearances for England and has a stand named after him at London Stadium.

7. Pop Robson - 104

Pop Robson had two spells with West Ham, first between 1070 and 1974, and then again between 1976 and 1979. He racked up 104 goals and played for Sunderland during his break from the Hammers and then returned to the Black Cats after leaving East London.

6. Johnny Byrne - 107

Byrne racked up 107 goals between 1961 and 1967. He played for Crystal Palace either side of his West Ham spell, and he also features on their top 10 scorers of all time list. Byrne later emigrated to South Africa, where he passed away.

5. Tony Cottee - 146

The most recent name on this list, Cottee played for West Ham across two spells. His first spell spanned 1983 to 1988, and he returned for a spell between 1994 and 1996. Cottee was an impressive goalscorer, and he also did well at Leicester City, where he won a League Cup.

Joint 3. John Dick - 166

John Dick spent nine years with the Hammers between 1953 and 1962. He racked up 326 league appearances and scored 166 in all. He also won a Scotland cap during his career.

Joint 3. Jimmy Ruffell - 166

Ruffell was with the Hammers between 1921 and 1937. He made 505 league appearances and spent virtually all of his career with the Hammers, becoming a club legend. He made six appearances for England.

2. Geoff Hirst - 252

A legend of the game, Hirst made 411 appearances for West Ham between 1959 and 1972. He famously scored a hat-trick to help England win the 1966 World Cup. He is one of only two players to score a hat-trick in the men’s World Cup final, and he is the only player to do it and win the trophy. He scored a whopping 252 goals for the Iron.

1. Vic Watson - 326

Club legend Vic Watson leads the list with 326 goals, and he is not going to be dethroned any time soon. Watson made 462 appearances for the club between 1920 and 1935, winning promotion from Division Two and reaching the FA Cup final in1923.
