More former Kentucky Wildcats are getting settled following the NBA Draft.
Andrew Carr has joined the Portland Trail Blazers and Lamont Butler has paired up with the Atlanta Hawks, both as undrafted free agents.
In addition to acquiring Yang Hansen — who was selected No. 16 overall in the draft — Portland has their own share of centers on their roster. However, there may be an opportunity for Carr to carve out some time at the power forward spot and find a way into the rotation as a backup center.
For Butler, his chances of being able to contribute for the Hawks appears somewhat high. He could play well this summer and carve out a role to be Atlanta’s backup point guard when all-star Trae Young is on the bench or playing off the ball.
Of course, both Amari Williams and Koby Brea heard their names called on Thursday night when each was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft — With Brea going to the Phoenix Suns and Amari Williams joining the Boston Celtics.
Both teams have at least competed in a NBA Finals once of the last five seasons (Phoenix with one appearance, Boston making two and winning one) and feature at least one superstar player on the roster.
