Viktor Gyokeres is refusing to let this summer's drawn-out transfer saga affect his mood as he shared a light-hearted snap of his Sporting CP team-mates replicating his celebration on Friday night.

The 27-year-old has been front and centre of nearly every gossip column in recent weeks as he continues to be linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Sweden international was one of the most prolific performers in Europe last term as he scored 54 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions for Sporting CP. The forward seems set to leave the Portuguese capital this summer, with the Primeira Liga champions reportedly demanding a fee of close to £85 million for the former Coventry City and Swansea City.

But despite the little progress on the transfer front after the Sporting CP president revealed last week that there had been no offers for Gyokeres, the Swede appears to still be in a jovial mood. On Friday night, Gyokeres shared a post on Instagram that showed Sporting CP defender Zeno Debast performing the forward's now iconic celebration.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Gyokeres made a plea to the club's president to force through a transfer to Arsenal ahead of Sporting CP's return to training next week. The report from Portuguese outlet Record claims that the 27-year-old's agent has been in touch with the Gunners' sporting director Andrea Berta.

United have also been linked with a move for the forward, who was signed by Ruben Amorim in 2023. But despite the reports in the national press about Gyokeres' eagerness to leave Sporting CP, it appears he still has the backing of his team-mates.

Publicly, Gyokeres has said very little but did take to Instagram earlier this month. "There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it false," he said.

"I will speak when the time is right."
