Highly-rated Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon is reportedly being lined up for another loan move.
The centre-back is yet to pull on the Garibaldi and play for the Reds. And it might be he has to wait a little longer to do so.
Forest signed Bindon from Reading on deadline day in February. He was immediately loaned back to the Royals for the second half of the season and continued to impress.
The 20-year-old is viewed as a bright talent and is seen as one for the future at the City Ground. A decision will need to be made this summer over whether he has a part to play on the banks of the Trent next term.
If head coach Nuno Espirito Santo decides not to keep Bindon as part of the squad for 2025/26, the New Zealand international would not be short of offers. And one Championship side are already sniffing around, according to The Guardian.
Sheffield United have emerged as potential suitors for Bindon. Newly-appointed manager Ruben Selles is said to be ‘eyeing a reunion’ with the youngster after the pair worked together at Reading.
Selles was at the helm when Bindon signed for the Royals from Los Angeles FC in 2023. Selles went on to manage Hull City but left the Tigers last month and took charge at Bramall Lane last week.
Following his move to Reading, Bindon quickly became a regular starter for the club. He took home their Player of the Season award for 2024/25.
However, the defender has admitted he is uncertain what will happen next. He recently said in an interview: “We’ll have to wait and see.
“Playing in the Premier League is what everyone dreams of. There’s no guarantee I’ll be in the squad so I just have to appreciate every opportunity.”
Fellow New Zealander Chris Wood has already tipped Bindon for big things. Earlier this year, the Reds striker said: “He is starting off in his career. He has done extremely well at Reading this year. He's got that calmness about him on the ball.
“He has turned a lot of heads over in the UK and we're lucky enough to have got him at Forest because there was a lot of teams around him. He's got the capabilities of being a Premier League player. It's just down to him to continue to be focused and get there.”
