Giants star shares absurd goals for 2025 season

New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. exceeded essentially all expectations last season after being selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. And heading into 2025, Tracy believes he can truly enter the discussion of being one of the elite running backs in all of football.

Tracy overtook the starting job from Devin Singletary quite early into the 2024 season, recording over 1,000 all-purpose yards last year to go along with six total touchdowns on a Giants offense that was quite inefficient.

It was a great year that truly makes Tracy someone to watch in 2025. But according to Tracy, he believes that he can nearly double his rushing totals from last year in 2025.

“Dominate,” Tracy told NFL Media when asked what his goals were heading into 2025. “I think that the best thing that I can do is dominate where I was last year and then, shoot, try to multiply that this year. Last year, I had 800 [rushing yards]. This year, I need to go for [1,500 yards]. Wherever I was last year was last year. It don’t matter. It’s a new year.”

It’s certainly one heck of a goal heading into his just second year in the NFL. And whether you believe that number is actually possible for Tracy or not, it’s at least admirable to see just how confident he is in his abilities.

One improvement that Tracy will seemingly have entering 2025 is a quarterback situation that is much better than he dealt with in 2024. Not only did the team bring in Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they also signed established veterans at the position like former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

If Tracy does live up to his own expectations, expect for the Giants to be far better than most are projecting them to be.
