Liverpool have decided to hold off for now on a move for Alexander Isak and will revisit the Newcastle striker’s transfer after June 30.
The 25‑year‑old Swede is seen as Liverpool’s top attacking target this summer, but the club will wait until the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Regulations cycle resets, giving them more financial freedom.
Newcastle are determined to keep him and are reportedly ready to make him their highest-paid player, offering over £150,000 per week.
Isak still has three years remaining on his current deal, which runs until 2028, meaning Newcastle hold a strong negotiating position and Reds would likely need a record fee to tempt them.
