‘The situation is actually’: Miguel Delaney shares what he’s now hearing about Alexander Isak…

Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United has again come under increasing speculation during this summer’s transfer window.

While Newcastle have no plans to sell Isak, the superstar Swede is of interest to both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Isak has confirmed he’s happy at Newcastle but there have been claims he would be open to a move to Anfield.

Still, there is absolutely no suggestion Newcastle will look to cash in on Isak any time soon. The 25-year-old still has three years to run on his contract and Geordie Boot Boys understands the club are willing to improve his terms.

Now, Miguel Delaney has shared another promising update.

Alexander Isak won’t push for Newcastle United exit

Writing in his Reading the Game newsletter, Delaney revealed that the only thing that would see Isak leave St James’ Park this summer is the player himself pushing for a move.

Thankfully, it’s added that nobody expects that to happen this summer, hence why Arsenal’s interest in the player is not hitting the headlines as much as it previously did.

Delaney adds that the situation is “simple”. There are no plans to sell, and the forward is not likely to agitate for an exit this summer at least.

“There continues to be a lot of noise about Alexander Isak, especially as regards Liverpool, but the wonder is why,” he wrote.

“The situation is actually simple. Newcastle United are absolutely not going to consider any sale unless Isak agitates to leave, but nobody sees him as that kind of player.

“It is why you’re not hearing as much about Arsenal’s interest now.”

When Newcastle United will sell Alexander Isak

Sadly, however, there will come a day when Isak leaves the club. Still, decision-makers on Tyneside already have a plan in place for that.

Indeed, Newcastle plan to sell Isak to a foreign club, amid historic links with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

That would be a much more palpable move for Newcastle fans. Perhaps more painful than selling Isak would be having to watch him play against Eddie Howe’s side in the Premier League.

In an ideal world, Newcastle wouldn’t sell Isak for many years to come. If he does go at some point, however, then selling to a foreign club looks the best possible outcome.
