A potential move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho to Fenerbahçe has reportedly fallen through after the Turkish club’s manager, Jose Mourinho, decided against pursuing the deal.

Fanatik report that Mourinho, a former Manchester United boss, is seeking only “professionals” for his squad, raising questions about Sancho’s suitability.

This development comes as Manchester United continues a busy summer in the transfer market. The Red Devils are reportedly close to finalizing deals for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, with Mbeumo’s impending arrival set to push the club’s summer spending beyond £120 million.

Sancho’s Uncertain Future

Jadon Sancho’s future remains a significant talking point. The England international recently returned to Old Trafford after Chelsea opted against making his loan move permanent, reportedly paying a £5 million penalty fee to exit the agreement. While Sancho showed flashes of brilliance during his inconsistent spell at Stamford Bridge, it wasn’t enough to secure a prolonged stay.

Now, with the Fenerbahçe move seemingly off the table, Sancho is attracting interest from elsewhere. Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus are reportedly willing to meet Manchester United’s asking price, though they face unspecified “huge problems” in securing a deal. Additionally, several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur, are rumored to be exploring a move for the 25-year-old.

Mourinho’s Stance

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, initial reports suggested Sancho had agreed to a move to Fenerbahçe, with talks between the clubs anticipated. However, the latest information indicates a firm “no” from Mourinho. The report claims Mourinho’s decision was made after consulting with club officials, stating he “did not want” Sancho because he “only wants professionals” in his team.

“Jose Mourinho only wants ‘professionals’ in the team,” a source reportedly stated. “Not players who only want to come to Turkey for money and who will not feel any loyalty to the club. That’s why the Sancho transfer was suspended in Fenerbahçe.”

Red Devils Eyeing Exits

To balance their significant transfer outlays, Manchester United is actively looking to offload several players. Jadon Sancho is among the prime candidates for an exit, alongside Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony, as the club seeks to raise funds and streamline its squad.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on where Jadon Sancho ultimately lands, with his future at Manchester United appearing increasingly tenuous.
