**West Ham** United target Jacob Ramsey will not be moving to the London Stadium, according to breaking reports.
The Aston Villa attacking midfielder had been rumoured to be high on the Irons’ transfer hit list—but a West Ham club spokesman appears to have reluctantly admitted that Tottenham now have the upper hand.
Speaking to [Hammers News](https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/west-ham-owners-make-stunning-spurs-deal-claim-after-talks-with-aston-villa/) earlier today, the source inadvertently confirmed West Ham’s interest in Ramsey by stating “I think the player (Ramsey) is going to Spurs.”
The 24-year-old made 29 league appearances under Unai Emery last season, and it’s well known that Villa need to make a sale before 30 June to comply with PSR regulations.
Unfortunately for West Ham, it looks as though Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has once again got one over [David Sullivan](https://www.claretandhugh.info/david-sullivan-bio/)—with Ramsey seemingly heading for North London.
It’s the second bitter pill to swallow in just 24 hours for the Hammers board, following confirmation that top target Habib Diarra has joined Sunderland in a €30m deal.
The final twist of the knife on the deal is that West Ham would have spent money from the sale of Mohammed Kudus on the purchase of Ramsey. However it must now be called into question whether Tottenham will pursue their interest in the Hammers winger.
