Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot is not a target for RB Leipzig, despite reports to the contrary in the UK.
That’s [according to journalist Philipp Hinze](https://x.com/philipphinze24/status/1938934031967539323), who reports that there is ‘nothing’ to reports suggesting that Leipzig want the Liverpool midfielder.
Elliot has been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with the feeling that the 22-year-old is at a crossroads after limited minutes under Arne Slot last season.
The arrival of Florian Wirtz has also added increased competition in midfield and so he may need to look to move on to secure regular playing time. That feeling has certainly grown as he’s shone at the U21 European Championships with England.
Hinze, though, reports that there is nothing to reports of Leipzig being interested at this moment in time. There have been no talks or negotiations with Liverpool over him. There hasn’t even been a loose exchange between the clubs.
Furthermore, with a price tag of €45-50m, he’d be considered very expensive, perhaps too expensive, for Leipzig’s budget. There’s also the fact that as a ‘half-track number 10’, he doesn’t fit the profile Leipzig are looking for.
It seems they, or at least Hinze, want this rumour to die before it even begins. For now, at least, they have no interest in the Liverpool man.
