Leeds United face a fresh obstacle as they want to sign Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder Noah Sadiki after missing out on Habib Diarra.

The Strasbourg captain is set to join Sunderland soon after the Black Cats beat the Whites to the Senegalese midfielder’s £30million signature.

Sadiki is on the radar at Elland Road and may be the West Yorkshire outfit’s alternative target to bolster their engine room this summer.

Daniel Farke will hope 49ers Enterprises don’t miss out on another midfield target, but the Peacocks will have to deal with a Premier League rival to seal a deal.

Farke needs Sadiki transfer at Leeds after Diarra snub

Diarra seemed like a concrete target for Leeds as Farke looked to reinforce his midfield in the coming weeks.

The German manager will be without Joe Rothwell and Josuha Guilavogui next season, and the Whites arguably wouldn’t want to go into the upcoming campaign with a lack of depth in their squad.

Paraag Marathe must invest at Elland Road this summer if he wants to give the 48-year-old head coach the best chance of avoiding immediate relegation.

Leeds were left with a dearth of options in the middle of the park after injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev in the previous campaign.

The Whites can’t be in a similar scenario when they face Everton on the opening day of the Premier League season on 18 August.

While the West Yorkshire outfit have time before competitive fixtures start, Farke should demand that a majority of his new signings arrive in time for pre-season friendlies.

Sadiki’s situation will be one to keep an eye on as the Peacocks will surely be wary of missing out on another midfield target.
