George Kittle shares hilarious NSFW story about 49ers rookie prison visit

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has been making the media rounds as of late. In one of his most recent appearances, he was featured on an episode of "Bussin' With The Boys," a podcast hosted by former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan.

Kittle shared a pretty wild story about his time at San Quentin prison when he was a rookie in the NFL, and the exact clip can be viewed here.

"My rookie year, [the veterans] made all the rookies go up to San Quentin, the prison up in Oakland. And we go into the, like, death row, they're like, 'Just letting you guys know if there's a riot, there's nothing we can do.'"

The tight end went on to share more NSFW anecdotes from his visit that are probably better viewed at the link above for those who are curious, rather than reprinted here.

However, overall, it is a pretty wild story that Kittle shared. The trip to prison apparently worked or scared him straight because he has had a remarkable career in the NFL ever since. He is currently on a Hall of Fame pace, and he is also on his way towards being one of the best 49ers players ever.

Kittle is coming off a strong 2024 campaign in which he was one of the few bright spots during an otherwise disappointing season. He hauled in 78 passes for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns en route to another Pro Bowl appearance and Second-Team All-Pro honors.

The fun-loving tight end has been appearing on a lot of podcasts and TV shows as of late. He has discussed his unique retirement plans and has also promised that the team's defense is going to be far more vicious with Robert Saleh back as defensive coordinator. Kittle has also made sure to defend his franchise quarterback, Brock Purdy, from unfair criticism.

It seems like Kittle is everywhere these days, which is an absolute delight because he is a goofy guy who is not afraid to joke around and have a laugh. Even on the field, Kittle is known as a jokester. He is always keeping things light, which, along with his phenomenal play, has endeared him to 49ers fans.

Let's hope Kittle does not go back to prison anytime soon, unless it is for a tour of Alcatraz or something like that. And let's be thankful a riot didn't break out at San Quentin back in 2017, otherwise 49ers fans may have been robbed of the national treasure that is George Kittle.
