Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic is on the club’s radar. The Whites have been locked in discussions with the Italian team after reaching an initial agreement. Personal terms need to be sorted out before a deal can proceed.
Rodrigo Muniz is still a target, according to reports. Leeds are keen to return with a second bid.
Now, Joel Piroe has spoken out about his place in the team. He gave an interview to Dutch outlet Voetbalzone, saying he is confident of keeping his starting role in the Premier League:
“That is of course a great honour and always nice to hear. For me, the priority is still club football at the moment and international football would be a bonus. I don’t want to say too much about whether I think it’s right or wrong that my name is mentioned more now.
“When you play in the Championship, you know that you’re not looked at as much. But of course it’s nice to hear that you’re not forgotten. I think that if I show myself in the Premier League, they can’t ignore me anymore.”
Does Piroe keep his place next season?
As it stands, the Dutchman will be the first choice, if reports are to be believed. Piroe is familiar with the team, and style, and his goalscoring record speaks for itself.
