So far Leeds United have been successful in completing two transfer deals. The latter dragged on, but the Whites were able to push it across the finish line.
Lukas Nmecha joined on a free transfer, with the deal being announced just hours after the news came. The deal for Jaka Bijol was delayed for a while due to a wedding. Leeds were also keen on agreeing a good fee for the Slovenian international.

One move that looks to be in serious doubt is Habib Diarra. The Strasbourg star has been on Leeds’ radar this month, but that looks to have come to an end. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Sunderland have agreed to sign the midfielder for £30million, which will reportedly become a club record.
After contacting Strasbourg over a move, Leeds have now missed out on the player. Graeme Bailey has now revealed why Diarra ended up at Sunderland:
“Diarra was and is well-liked by Leeds, but they never came close to matching their demands of £30million,” Bailey said.
“I am told that Leeds considered coming back having held talks, but Sunderland was already going quickly and down the line with him.
“£30m is a substantial sum for a Ligue 1 player, but he is a big talent.”
Quentin Timber could be a replacement
So according to the explanation from the insider, Leeds did not want to match the demand for Diarra. But one player who would cost less could be Quinten Timber.

The Feyenoord man has been one of the standouts in the league. His ability to win the ball and immediately pass it forward could be key to Daniel Farke’s attacking system. If Timber is available, Leeds need to move fast for him.
