Nottingham Forest ‘after player – €6m bid placed, personal terms already agreed

Nottingham Forest are pushing to secure a deal for Mallorca full-back Pablo Maffeo and have already struck an agreement with the 27-year-old.

That’s [according to El Chiringuito,](https://x.com/elchiringuitotv/status/1938978308063920567) who report that Nottingham Forest are ‘after’ the full-back and have made a €6m offer to Mallorca for him.

Whether that will be enough to convince the Spanish side into selling isn’t mentioned but Nottingham Forest do have an agreement with the player and his entourage. This is described as being ‘complete’.

That would suggest that they are confident of getting their man and, with that key hurdle overcome, the focus is now on finding an agreement with Mallorca.

The Spanish side have no pressing need to sell this summer given Maffeo’s current contract expires in 2027. They would, though, risk heading into next summer with the player having just a year left on his deal, something most club’s want to avoid if possible.

Maffeo cost €3m to sign from VfB Stuttgart in 2022 after previously joining the club on a season-long loan deal in 2021. That came after spells at Espanyol, Manchester City and Girona. He’s made 128 appearances for Mallorca since joining them, the most of any club in his career.

They now have to weigh up Nottingham Forest’s bid, which would allow them to double their money on the defender this summer.
