Leeds United are set to bid for Angers star Himad Abdelli as an alternative to Habib Diarra, according to Football Insider.
The Whites are keen to strengthen their squad after securing a return to the Premier League following two years in the Championship, and have already added Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol to Daniel Farke's side.
But the club are keen to strengthen their midfield options further and having missed out on a deal for Strasbourg star Diarra, the 49ers have now changed their attention to a different Ligue 1 midfield star.

Leeds were very keen to sign Diarra, with two bids made for the Senegal international, but fellow Premier League new boys Sunderland have now stepped in and hijacked the deal, which has left Elland Road chiefs looking for alternatives.
According to Football Insider, one player who has emerged as an option for the midfield is Angers captain Abdelli and the club are now preparing to make a £12m bid for the creative midfielder.
Described as 'unstoppable' and 'magical', Abdelli is a more creative option than Diarra and would provide competition for the likes of Brendan Aaronson and Joel Piroe in the number ten position as well as playing as one of the deeper options in the double pivot.
The 25-year-old is someone that scouts at Leeds have been eyeing for a while, and they are now considering a serious offer to take him to the Premier League.
Farke is also keen to add a new striker to the squad with question marks over the future of Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph, with Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz believed to be the top target. The Brazilian has been subject of a £32m bid and a new bid is being considered, but the Cottagers are keen to keep hold of him, which is leaving Leeds continuing to look at options.
