UEFA have been told to investigate the German authorities for failing to grant Leeds United a permit to play in front of their own fans this summer.
Leeds have apologised to supporters this week after it was confirmed that they are now being discouraged from travelling to Germany to watch Daniel Farke’s men during a pre-season training camp.
The Yorkshire club say they were initially given written assurances from the German FA earlier this year because last year, fans were also told not to travel due to Euro 2024 straining police resources.
However, this year, the same thing has happened at short notice with the Whites saying “the police and local authorities will once again not grant a permit for us to play matches in front of spectators, will prohibit us from providing live updates and video streams, and have requested we discourage supporter travel.”

Labour MP told to intervene on Leeds situation
Keith Hackett now believes UEFA and Labour MP Lisa Nandy, who is the UK’s Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, should step in to reach an agreement that would see Leeds fans head to Germany.

Otherwise, the former Premier League and FIFA-listed referee believes United should look to cancel all their plans in Germany this summer so fans can attend games.
“Leeds United should withdraw from the arrangements and find alternative pre-season games where fans can attend,” Hackett told MOT Leeds News.
“I do think that UEFA should investigate and determine the real reasons behind this decision.
“I wonder if this decision was made ahead of plans made by Leeds United fans to travel.
“Given that the German FA indicated that fans would be allowed, the late change must be down to security arrangements and police expressing their concern.
“I would like to see The Rt Hon Lisa Nandy MP liaise with her government counterpart in Germany to try to overturn this decision.
“*Following your club overseas is an expensive task. Many fans will have booked travel and accommodation.
If no change takes place, who is going to compensate them?*“

What are Leeds’ pre-season fixtures?
Leeds are yet to announce any pre-season friendlies before they play Manchester United at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on 19 July.
They then welcome Villarreal to Elland Road on 2 August before wrapping up their 2025/26 preparations by taking on AC Milan at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Republic of Ireland on 9 August.
Leeds seemingly have fixtures lined up in Germany but it remains to be seen whether or not they will ever be announced to stop fans from trying to attend.
