Everton are not shying away from looking to their city rivals Liverpool for potential deals this summer.
David Moyes will be expecting a big few weeks from Angus Kinnear and his recruitment chiefs following a quiet June.
With teams across the Premier League sharing similar concerns, Everton are waiting for the new PSR window to open next month.
Everton have looked at Liverpool’s Ben Doak as an attacking option already in the window, with the two clubs failing to deal together for 33 years.
However, he is not the only Liverpool player who the Friedkins could sanction a move for this summer.

Everton monitoring Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott
With so many players departing Finch Farm at the end of the month, Everton are keen to add new attacking firepower to their squad.
Thierno Barry is Everton’s top striker target, but Moyes is well aware quality around a new number nine is going to be required.

MORE EVERTON STORIES
“Harvey Elliott is emerging as one of the most wanted players in the Premier League,” he said.
“I am told nearly half of the Premier League are seriously looking at him, and Everton are one of those. Nothing is advanced, but they are keeping tabs on the situation, and why wouldn’t they? We are talking about one of England’s star players from the U21 Euros with a load of Premier League experience.
“Elliott wants first team football with one eye on making Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
“Liverpool are open to him moving but they want a good fee, he won’t be cheap.”
The Friedkins are backing Everton in the market, but Liverpool could demand an inflated fee if they were to receive serious interest from their city rivals.
Everton signing Elliott would be a controversial move
It would be fair to say Elliott is not exactly the most popular of players amongst the Everton fans.
It is hard to disagree that Elliott has impressed at the U21 Euros with England after netting a brace in their semi final against the Netherlands.
However, there are a number of other clubs showing an interest in Elliott, which Liverpool would likely rather deal with.
The following Premier League sides are understood to hold an interest in Elliott:
Brighton & Hove Albion
Tottenham Hotspur
Newcastle United
Fulham
West Ham United
As has been the story for Everton this summer, they will face serious competition from some of their rivals to land one of their targets.
