Sunderland have been splashing the cash in the last few days, including breaking their transfer record on Habib Diarra, and now they’ve been linked with a move for one of the emerging stars of the ongoing Club World Cup.
According to [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/real-madrid-recibe-grandes-ofertas-gonzalo-garcia-20250628.html), Sunderland have ‘made the strongest bid’ for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia.
The report claims Sunderland have offered a loan with a mandatory purchase option should they stay up in the Premier League, with the option being €15m plus another €5m in addons.
Garcia has played in all three of Real Madrid’s Club World Cup games so far, scoring in two of the games and getting an assist in the other.
The 21-year-old has played 9 times in total for their first team, scoring three and getting two assists and has 30 goals in 73 games for Real Madrid Castilla.
