Ole Miss’ Dre Davis joining Brooklyn Nets Summer League team

Former Ole Miss forward **[Dre Davis](https://247sports.com/Player/Dre-Davis-46054928)** is set to compete in the NBA's Summer League program next month, joining the Brooklyn Nets, according to DraftExpress.

The Nets are scheduled to play four games in Las Vegas next month, competing against the Oklahoma City Thunder (July 10), Washington Wizards (July 13), New York Knicks (July 15) and Orlando Magic (July 16).

Davis transferred to the Rebels, following stints at Louisville and Seton Hall, ahead of the 2024-25 season for his final year of college ball. 247Sports ranked Davis as the No. 10 available small forward as well as the No. 60 overall transfer from the 2024 portal cycle.

In his lone season with Chris Beard's Rebels, Davis started in all 34 of his appearances while averaging 10.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists per game. The 6-foot-6 Indianapolis native also logged 25.9 minutes a night.

"Defensively, (Dre) just raises the level of energy," Sean Pedulla said last season. "His plays are loud and raises the level of the other four guys on the court, making us want to guard and make stops. Offensively he (hits) some big shots."

Davis put his body on the line for Beard's Sweet 16 group last season, playing through an 'upper extremity' injury a couple of times.

Ole Miss' (then) second-year coach underscored his respect for Davis following a win over his former team, Texas.

"(Dre) is someone we really depend on the defensive end and offensive end…"A lot of respect for Dre," Beard previously said. "He's banged up, and not even having a chance to practice and go through his normal routines."

"For him to have the courage to not only play but make up his mind that he's going to play well…Dre Davis has my upmost respect. He's been in the training room around the clock. A lot of respect for him on a night where most guys wouldn't play. He went out there and was the best player on the floor for segments of the game."
