Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has returned to professional football after a nightmare spell following his drug ban. The Frenchman has signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco, keeping him in the Principality until 2027.
Pogba will finally be allowed to play competitively again for the first time since September 2023 after receiving an initial four-year ban - which was reduced to 18 months following an appeal. At the time, he was playing for Juventus in Serie A when he returned a positive test for the prohibited substance DHEA.
He mutually terminated his contract with the Italian side in November 2024 and was allowed to return to the sport in March 2025.
However, he has now officially been unveiled as a Monaco player - allowing him a path back into professional football.
The 32-year-old could make his debut for the Ligue 1 side during their pre-season preparations which kick off against Cercle Bruges on July 11.
He may make a return to England, where he was once a world-record signing after his United comeback, when Monaco embark on a training camp in Birmingham two days later.
"Like a kid all excited for the first day of school," Pogba can be heard saying on his announcement video.

The midfielder will also look to help Monaco progress in the Champions League after they finished behind Pari Saint-Germain and Marseille.
On the eve of his move being announced, Pogba teased his next move on Instagram with a smirking face and a series of other emojis.
The Frenchman can now push to compete for a place in Didier Deschamps' side for the World Cup next summer.
During an interview with Ball.LDN recently, Pogba said: "The French team are exciting and I'm a big fan of them already.
"I can't wait to see how they further develop and win a future World Cup - hopefully with me as a team-mate."
"Winning the 2018 World Cup made me hungry for more and more.
"It made me want to win every medal and every trophy out there."
