Jacob Ramsey has piqued West Ham’s interest in recent weeks.

The 24-year-old was seen as one of Aston Villa’s best upcoming players and has been crucial in their rise up the Premier League table.

More recently, the starlet has struggled to cement a regular place in the first team amid his growing injury concerns.

As a result, Ramsey could be sold by Villa this summer to help alleviate their PSR concerns.

Graham Potter is in the market for new signings after their weak end to the 2024/25 season which saw the London club finish 14th.

Therefore, there are growing concerns that West Ham could be relegated from the Premier League this season if quality additions are not made.

Ramsey has been an important player at Aston Villa

Now, it now appears that the Hammers are set to miss out on another target, with Ramsey likely to move to London rivals Tottenham.

“I think the player (Ramsey) is going to Spurs,” the top spokesman for West Ham’s owners told Hammers News (28 June).

This is no doubt a massive blow for Potter, with Ramsey being the latest star that the Hammers are set to miss out on.

West Ham’s lack of transfer pull is a major concern

While it has been said that West Ham need to sell before they buy, the Hammers have still been heavily linked to multiple players.

Yet, many of these stars are now set to move to other clubs, with Ramsey being the latest.

This is a massive concern as it may show that the London club’s pull has dramatically decreased in recent years.

While they are no longer in Europe, the Hammers should be able to beat their rivals to transfers, especially if they are pursuing them for months on end.

Instead, West Ham are now going into July weaker than they were at the end of last season which is simply unacceptable.

A massive month is now needed if Potter’s squad is going to be ready for the upcoming Premier League campaign, or they will be destined for a slow start.
