Brother of Pittsburgh Steelers star makes his college football decision

Justice Fitzpatrick, the brother of star Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, has committed to Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia.

Justice, a four-star cornerback in his own right, had major offers from around the college football world, including from his brother’s alma mater, the University of Alabama. Following his commitment, Justice told On3 that he shut down his recruitment and would stay committed to the Bulldogs.

A 6-feet, 185-pound defensive back from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Justice visited Georgia on May 30, and committed two weeks after that visit to the Bulldogs.

“Coach Smart coached my brother at Alabama, so we know him really well,” Fitzpatrick told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I know him well, my family knows him well and we have a great relationship. I have gotten to know the coaches at Georgia well, I have worked with them at camp and I feel like Georgia checks off most of my boxes.”

His other notable offers include Alabama, Texas, USC, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and others that wanted him in their defensive backfield. The Fitzpatrick family has connections to Smart, who was Minkah’s defensive coordinator and main recruiter while he was at Alabama.

It is no surprise to see Justice head to a place with people the family knows well, and he has NFL upside just like his brother did back in 2018 when he was a first-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins.
