Bryan Mbeumo has made it clear to Brentford that he wants to become a Manchester United player this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Cameroonian forward has been the subject of lengthy negotiations between the two clubs over a potential deal. There have been two failed bids for the 25-year-old, most recently offering £55m + £7.5m in add-ons.
United were initially joined in the race for Mbeumo by Newcastle United and Arsenal, but he prioritised a move to Old Trafford despite no Champions League football.
Tottenham Hotspur came into the equation after his former Brentford boss, Thomas Frank, replaced Ange Postecoglou. Despite this making a Spurs move "more intriguing," he is only interested in joining United.

Mbeumo was one of the Premier League's most prolific forwards last season and became the Bees' talisman with stellar performances on the right. His incredible form, bagging 20 goals, led to interest from United, Newcastle, Arsenal and Spurs.
The Red Devils waited for the Cameroon international to give them the green light to proceed with their pursuit, with the Magpies and the Gunners dropping out of the race. He has remained determined to join Ruben Amorim's side and has now made his stance clear.
Romano gave an update on the player's position while speaking to GIVEMESPORT:
"The player wants the move, also Brentford are now informed by the player about his desire to be a Man United player and to join Man United.
So also, the player is doing his part in this transfer, trying his best to go to Manchester United while he's respecting Brentford, because he has an excellent relationship with all the people at the club. So the conversation is still ongoing between clubs."

Mbeumo has been with Brentford for six years, joining the Bees from French outfit Troyes in the summer of 2019. He has developed into one of English football's most highly regarded attackers and finished joint fourth in last season's Golden Boot race.
The versatile winger, branded "unplayable", is thought to have supported United growing up, and he revealed that club legend Cristiano Ronaldo was the first name he had printed on his shirt.
Mbeumo could be relishing the chance to try and restore the club's glory days. He is willing to snub Champions League football to make the move to Old Trafford to form a new frontline alongside new arrival Matheus Cunha under Amorim.
