Leeds United’s transfer business thus far has seen the club pay close attention to players with contracts expiring in the near future, and shrewd transfer deals have opened up as a result.
The first signing Leeds confirmed this summer was that of Lukas Nmecha, joining on a free from Wolfsburg upon the expiry of his contract.
Jaka Bijol’s 2027 contract didn’t follow the same pattern, but concrete interest in the likes of Nick Pope, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Rodrigo Muniz indicates Leeds are looking into signing players who find themselves entering the final 12 months of their current contracts.

Harry Wilson – Fulham

Up first is another from Fulham, and it’s wide man Harry Wilson.
The Wales international wasn’t a guaranteed starter for the Cottagers under Marco Silva last season and could have perhaps been a discussion for Leeds in January, only to score in successive games to close out the calendar year, meaning that optimistic thought was soon forgotten.
However, despite being in talks for a new extension at Craven Cottage, Leeds could be a club to offer the right-winger a pathway to starting more often.
Leeds badly need a left-footer in attacking midfield and Wilson’s Premier League experience, ability to score from range, and dead-ball accuracy would all be great assets.
Add to that the fact he’s a Welsh international and could possibly be swayed by five of his senior compatriots that play at Elland Road, plus Farke’s documented affinity with Wales, and Leeds could find a really good signing in Wilson.
