Fans are going to love how Dylan Harper responded to a question about how bad Spurs Nation is "craving" another deep trip to the playoffs. "What's gonna change really quick... We're gonna make the playoffs," he claimed. And I believe him.
"The Spurs fanbase is craving another playoff run. Haven't been to the playoffs in six years. What's your message to Spurs fans?"

The number two overall draft pick displayed confidence that you felt as soon as he sat down at the microphone. You could hear the leadership in his voice when he spoke, and how determined he is to make his words a reality. With the young talent now on this roster, there's no reason why he can't end up on the right side of his statement, and that's what the fan base will be expecting.
The Spurs have the longest playoff drought in the Western Conference
The Silver and Black have paid the toll for their extended run of dominance during the Tim Duncan era. It's like the basketball gods demand sacrifice for good fortune in the NBA. Being in position to draft Timmy was a gift after Spurs fans had to miss out on what could have been some amazing David Robinson years early in his career while he served in the Navy.
Robinson, one of the nicest players the league has ever seen, was then forced to deal with Dennis Rodman for a couple of years. The least the powers that be could do is make sure Robinson went out with a couple of trophies. That set up the run that spanned nearly two decades.
Eventually, the wheels had to come off, as nobody is meant to reign continuously forever. That came in the form of the Kawhi Leonard saga. The basketball gods saw what was taking place as the Spurs were whipping the Warriors by 23 points in game one of the 2017 Western Conference Finals. It was supposed to be Golden State's turn on the throne, but the Silver and Black were about to deny that.
That's when Zaza Pachulia happened, and the rest is history. Now, after the required number of years of irrelevance, San Antonio is back, and this time, they have Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper to lead the new era.
I know. It sounds crazy. That's because it is. But sports are about having fun, and what's more fun than a good sports myth, story, or conspiracy theory? Regardless of the reason things went downhill, what matters now is that the Spurs are back. That's not debatable.
