Man Utd dressing room make feelings clear on Bryan Mbeumo transfer as new bid rejected

Manchester United saw a fresh bid for Bryan Mbeumo rejected on Friday as Brentford continue to play hard ball over the transfer. And two Red Devils players may be particularly frustrated after making their thoughts clear on social media.

United have already snapped up Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno as they prepare for the new Premier League season. And Ruben Amorim is on the hunt for more talent as he looks to get his side moving in the right direction. The Portuguese boss endured a tough six-month stint in the Old Trafford dugout after joining United from Sporting last November, with his side losing the Europa League final before finishing 15th in the league.

United had an initial bid of £45million plus up to £10m in add-ons rejected by Brentford earlier in June as they attempted to get an early deal over the line for Mbeumo.

And, according to the BBC, the Bees have rejected a second offer of £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons.

Brentford want at least the same £62.5m fee United paid for Cunha up front before they agree to the deal, with the Red Devils also facing competition from Tottenham for the winger’s signature.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has kept a close eye on the transfer situation between United and Mbeumo.

And after he uploaded an image of Mbeumo next to United’s badge on Instagram, his post was liked by Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee.

So it appears those two players at least are counting down the days until Mbeumo joins them in the north west, if the 13-time champions can eventually get the transfer sorted.

Mbeumo has bagged 70 goals and 51 assists for the Bees since joining the club from Troyes in 2019. He enjoyed his finest season in a Brentford shirt last time around as he registered 20 strikes in the league to help his team finish 10th.

But he only has one year remaining on his contract in west London and looks likely to move on before the end of the transfer window, with Brentford at risk of losing him for free in a year if they don’t accept an offer this summer.

Mbeumo has reportedly told Brentford bosses that he only wants to join the Red Devils and has no interest in reuniting with former Bees manager Thomas Frank at Tottenham.

And his arrival at Old Trafford would provide a shot in the arm to a United side that lacked creativity in front of goal last season and struggled to find the back of the net at times.
