49ers' Christian McCaffrey Labeled NFL's 'Biggest Bounce-Back Candidate'

Christian McCaffrey will be out to prove he's still the player he used to be when he comes back in 2025.

The San Francisco 49ers running back played in just four games last season while dealing with multiple injuries.

Coming off a 2023 where he posted 2,023 yards from scrimmage and scored 21 total touchdowns, McCaffrey amassed just 348 total yards through the air and on the ground combined last season with no touchdowns.

At 29, McCaffrey is either on the decline, like many running backs at that age, or he's still got some tread left on the tires, and he'll bounce back next year.

Bleacher Report's Moe Moton believes McCaffrey is the No. 1 bounce-back candidate in the NFL next season.

"When healthy, McCaffrey is arguably the best fantasy running back to roster, but he comes with significant risk because of his recent injury history," writes Bleacher Report's Moe Moton. McCaffrey has missed 10 or more games in three of the last five seasons. Moreover, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan talked about protecting the star running back from himself following an injury-riddled campaign. Managers should expect a lighter workload for McCaffrey compared to recent years, but he's still one of the league's best pass-catching running backs.

"In the five seasons that McCaffrey hasn't missed more than one outing, he caught at least 67 passes and finished within the top 10 in scoring among running backs. Even with fewer carries, he's a tier 1 fantasy tailback."
