Arsenal are preparing for a blockbuster start to July, with the club on the verge of announcing three major signings: Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and Christian Norgaard from Brentford.
The moves, driven by manager Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta, underline the Gunners’ ambition to end their long trophy drought and mount a serious Premier League title challenge in the 2025/26 season.
Top of the list is Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who is set to join Arsenal in a £55 million deal from Real Sociedad. Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most complete defensive midfielders, the 26-year-old is expected to be officially unveiled on July 1. Sources suggest the deal has already been finalised, with Zubimendi having travelled to London to complete the final stages of the move.

Zubimendi, often likened to former Spain great Xabi Alonso for his composure and passing ability, is viewed as a long-term replacement for Thomas Partey, whose contract expires at the end of June. His arrival is seen as a major coup, with the Gunners fending off late interest from Real Madrid to secure his signature.

Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to become Arsenal’s new backup goalkeeper in a cut-price £5 million deal. The 30-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, has already completed his medical and could be unveiled by the weekend or early next week.

Kepa brings significant experience, having made over 100 Premier League appearances and won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021. His signing fills the void left by Norberto Neto, who returned to Bournemouth earlier this summer.
Completing the trio of incoming transfers is Christian Norgaard, Brentford’s captain and midfield enforcer. Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £10 million plus up to £5 million in performance-related add-ons. The 31-year-old is expected to undergo a medical shortly, with the move likely to be confirmed within days.

Norgaard’s arrival adds steel and depth to Arsenal’s midfield following Jorginho’s free transfer to Flamengo. With over 190 appearances for Brentford, the Danish international offers Premier League experience and a strong physical presence, qualities that fit seamlessly into Arteta’s tactical plans alongside the technically gifted Zubimendi and Declan Rice.

These three signings are expected to mark the beginning of an aggressive transfer window for Arsenal, with up to six additions planned. Talks are progressing with Valencia’s young centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, while attacking options such as Viktor Gyökeres, Benjamin Šeško, and Eberechi Eze remain firmly on the club’s radar.
With the official announcements of Zubimendi, Kepa, and Norgaard expected in the first week of July, Arsenal are laying down a clear marker of their intent to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours in 2025/26. Arteta’s blend of youth, experience, and Premier League-proven talent could be key to ending the club’s 21-year wait for a league title.
