Gabe Madsen settles into a fade-away shot against a pair of UCLA defenders during his career with the University of Utah. Madsen, a Rochester Mayo graduate, has signed a summer league contract with the Golden State Warriors.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Rochester Mayo graduate and former University of Utah standout guard Gabe Madsen has signed a free-agent summer-league contract with the Golden State Warriors.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Madsen averaged 15.2 points for Utah this past season, as well as 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He shot 37 percent from the field overall and 32.2 percent on 3-pointers.

As a junior in 2023-24, Madsen shot 44 percent from the field (32.7 percent on 3-pointers) and averaged 13.6 points. He was at 11.6 points per game as a sophomore and 6.7 as a freshman.
