Barcelona are expected to try and activate Nico Williams’ release clause at Athletic Club next week and bring the Spain star to the Camp Nou.
The club are thought to have funds available to pay the clause but must also find a way to be able to register Nico after his arrival.
According to Diario Sport, Williams is doing his best to try and ensure the transfer goes through quickly and smoothly.
He’s willing to sign a six-year contract, which will help regards amortization, and will also agree to a salary that increases year on year.
The hope is that these steps, along with Barca being able to offload a few players, will ensure that he’s ready to go in time for the start of the new season.
Athletic Club have already voiced their complaints about the potential move, but the hope is the transfer saga will be over soon and Williams will be a Barca player.
