Leeds United and Rangers are expected to have a close relationship in the next few years.

The 49ers Enterprises group, which owns the LS11 outfit, were part of a consortium, also including Andrew Cavenagh, that took a 51 per cent controlling stake in the Scottish club.

The Americans will likely lean on what they have learned at Elland Road and use it to benefit the Glasgow Giants as they try to catch up with arch-rivals Celtic.

Meanwhile, they will also be trying to keep the Whites in the Premier League after they finally secured promotion.

Leeds and Rangers in talks amid new Ibrox addition

The Gers have just signed Max Aarons, a player that Daniel Farke knows well from his time at Norwich, as the 25-year-old was a key part of his promotion-winning squad at Carrow Road in the 2018-19 season.

A report from the print edition of The Herald (29 June) claims that while there is not an official multi-club agreement in place, there has already been dialogues between the two clubs’ hierarchies.

It states that talks between senior figures at each club is “already understood to be common” after the Ibrox outfit secured their first signature of the transfer window.

Leeds and Rangers can benefit from each other

The Yorkshire men and the Glaswegians will benefit from shared data when it comes to finances and scouting players.

Farke’s judgement may well have helped the Light Blues make a final decision on signing Aarons, due to his previous experience working with the ex-Bournemouth star.

The 49ers involvement with the Gers may also lead to more deal between the two clubs, with Iconic commentator Ian Darke telling MOT Leeds News that they are easier to do between sides that have a relationship.

One potential Gers addition that could come from the Whites is Jack Harrison, the midfielder had an underwhelming two-year loan stint at Everton and could be moved on by Farke this summer, and the Scottish side needs a right-winger.

A potential transfer the other way is midfielder Nico Raskin, who the Whites face competition for from the likes of Aston Villa and Wolves.

It remains to be seen whether those deals happen, but it is a genuine possibility given that the parties are already in conversations.
