A dream season for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento got even better on Saturday night as the England U21s defended their European Championship title.
Newcastle United defender Livramento has been one of England’s best players at this year’s tournament, two years on from when Anthony Gordon starred for the Young Lions in the 2023 edition.
Livramento was joined by former Toon star Elliot Anderson in lifting the trophy. Lee Carsley’s side raced into a two-goal lead at the National Football Stadium in Bratislava, though were eventually pegged back by beaten finalists Germany.
Jonathan Rowe, however, would score in extra-time to seal it for England in dramatic fashion. Here’s what the national media made of Livramento’s performance.

As was expected, plenty of media outlets were effusive in their praise of the 22-year-old.
GIVEMESPORT handed the former Southampton defender an 8/10 rating, saying of his performance: “Solid when relied upon, Livramento was always looking to make clever runs ahead of the ball.”
GOAL gave him a 7/10, saying: “Got up and down the pitch tirelessly and barely put a foot wrong from right-back.”
Meanwhile, The Daily Express also gave Livramento a 7/10 rating, adding: “Raced forward with the ball when the opportunity arose 10 minutes before the break as England carved out yet another chance to score. Supported the attack well in possession.”

It’s been a fine season for the full-back. In November, he made his senior England debut. In March, Livramento was excellent as Newcastle won the Carabao Cup. Now, in June, he’s lifted a title with the England U21s.
Going forward, it’s going to be impossible for Thomas Tuchel to leave him out of the senior England squad. The World Cup next summer surely awaits for Livramento now.
