The National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC) announces the start of construction work on the temporary control tower at Les Cayes Airport.
OAVCT : Insurance Renewal, 13/13 Campaign
The Office of Third-Party Vehicle Insurance (OAVCT) has launched a special campaign called "13/13", valid from June 13 to July 13, 2025. "Motorcycles, cars, all-terrain vehicles, and trucks with 2 to 3 years of arrears will only pay for one year of insurance. Those with 5 years or more will only pay for two years to be in compliance," states an OAVCT memo.
Certain confidential activities of the Ministry of Defense
"As Minister of Defense, responsible for a sector as strategic as it is vital to the Haitian state, I wish to remind everyone that certain information relating to the work underway within the Ministry is classified as National Defense. In this regard, I am unable to make certain sensitive files public, the disclosure of which could compromise our security and sovereignty efforts. However, in the face of incessant and unfounded criticism, the Ministry's Communications Office is authorized to share general information with the public, in strict compliance with the confidentiality requirements governing national defense activities," Jean-Michel Moïse, Minister of Defense.
NOTICE on importing used vehicles
As part of the implementation of the decree of March 11, 2020, relating to the security of goods and services, fair economic transactions, and consumer protection, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) informs importers of used motor vehicles that, as of August 5, 2025, customs clearance of these vehicles will be conditional upon presentation of a certificate of conformity issued by the exporting country. To this end, the MCI has accredited EAA Company Limited as the official service provider responsible for providing these certificates, in an effort to protect public health, safety, and the environment.
Construction equipment set on fire
A construction vehicle was set on fire near the Péligre intersection, amid ongoing clashes between armed groups and law enforcement. According to witnesses, the disabled vehicle was targeted by gangs who fueled the fire with fuel and flammable materials. The scene, filmed by the attackers, circulated widely on social media.
