David Moyes put on red alert after what 'outstanding' Everton target did in England under-21s…

Everton are exploring a number of deals this summer transfer window.

David Moyes wants to add quality to his attacking ranks, with Lyon’s £43m-rated winger Malick Fofana on Everton’s radar.

Lyon have just been demoted to the second tier of French football due to financial issues, so Fofana is expected to leave.

Manchester City’s Jack Grealish is also emerging as a target for Moyes, however, that deal would require substantial cash.

One of Everton’s other rumoured targets was actually in action last night and he would’ve surely put Moyes on red alert.

Everton target Harvey Elliott shines for England’s under-21s vs Germany in Euros final

Everton are showing an interest in Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott and it’s understood club chiefs are keeping tabs on his situation.

Elliott was in action for England’s under-21s last night as they defeated Germany 3-2 to retain the European Championships.

The 22-year-old netted the opening goal and his 90 minutes on the pitch would’ve surely put the Everton boss on red alert.

The national media were very complimentary of the former Fulham man, who was awarded the Player of the Tournament after the match.

Here’s what The Express had to say about Elliott’s display.

7/10 – “Was in the right place at the right time to nudge his side into the lead following his brace in the semi-finals. Started well but lost his way as the match wore on. Scored five goals in the tournament and will surely have clubs queuing for his signature when he returns to Liverpool.”

GOAL said.

7/10 – “Arguably England’s outstanding player of the tournament, Elliott got the Three Lions on their way with a typically assured finish, his fifth of the tournament. Has shown throughout just why he is a target of several Premier League clubs this summer. Tired towards the end of the 90 and was taken off ahead of extra time.”

GiveMeSport added.

7/10 – “Useful for Carsley’s men in tight spaces – and who else but him to grab the opener? He ran himself into the ground and was subbed heading into extra-time.”

Elliott stats vs Germany

From the first minute, Elliott was always showing for the ball and looking to be the talisman for Carsley’s side.

Here are his impressive Sofascore statistics.

90 minutes

44 touches

1 goal

83% pass completion

3 key passes

2 duels won

As evinced by his three key passes, he was well worth an assist, too, so clearly he passed his audition with Moyes likely watching.

There will, of course, be some uncertainty over a switch from Anfield to the Hill Dickinson, especially considering Elliott has mocked Everton’s 30-year trophy drought, so that will be something club chiefs will have to consider.
