A number of the club’s promising young players, including Aiden McCallion, have trained with the first team this week during Russell Martin’s first days in charge of pre-season.

Oliver Goodbrand and Alfie Hutchinson are both set to complete moves to Newcastle and leave the academy. The duo, both 16, will move to St James’ Park amid interest from a range of English outfits. Rangers will receive a fee for the pair, however.
